Energy Checker Partner Terms
Version 0.1 — Draft. Last updated July 2026.
1. About this programme
Energy Checker operates an independent homeowner guidance website at energychecker.co.uk. The partner programme allows trade partners to receive referrals from homeowners who have used the Energy Checker eligibility checker and consented to share their details with a named partner.
2. Lead referrals
2.1 Leads are homeowner-initiated enquiries. Each lead includes contact details, property information and eligibility context collected through the checker journey.
2.2 Each lead includes explicit, named consent from the homeowner specifically identifying the partner by name. Lead data must only be used for the purpose stated in the consent text shown to the homeowner.
2.3 Lead volumes are not guaranteed. Energy Checker does not warrant any minimum number of leads per week, month or any other period.
3. Trial model
3.1 New partners begin on a trial basis, receiving a limited number of leads (typically 5–10) before full activation.
3.2 Energy Checker reserves the right not to activate a partner account after the trial, including where outcome reporting, quality or compliance concerns arise.
4. Partner obligations
4.1 Partners must be appropriately certified or accredited for the services they are receiving leads for (e.g. MCS certification for heat pump installations).
4.2 Partners must contact homeowners promptly, professionally and only for the stated purpose.
4.3 Partners must report lead outcomes (e.g. contacted, quoted, won, lost) to enable quality monitoring.
4.4 Partners must not pass or sell lead data to third parties.
5. Data protection
5.1 Both Energy Checker and the partner are controllers of personal data in their own right for their respective processing purposes.
5.2 Partners must process lead data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, including maintaining a lawful basis (consent, as evidenced in each lead record).
5.3 Partners must delete personal data upon written request from Energy Checker or the homeowner, and must respond promptly to subject access requests.
6. Pricing
6.1 Pricing is agreed separately for each partner before activation. This draft does not specify commercial terms.
6.2 Energy Checker reserves the right to update pricing with reasonable notice.
7. Exclusivity
7.1 Exclusivity in a given postcode area or service category is not guaranteed and may be withdrawn if capacity or quality concerns arise.
7.2 Exclusivity arrangements, where agreed, will be documented in writing alongside these terms.
8. Liability
8.1 Energy Checker provides introductions only. We are not party to any installation contract, quotation or grant application between the partner and the homeowner.
8.2 Energy Checker's liability for any lead-related claim is limited to the fees paid in the relevant month.
9. Termination
9.1 Either party may terminate participation with 30 days' written notice.
9.2 Energy Checker may terminate immediately for data protection breaches, failure to maintain certifications, or conduct harmful to homeowners.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
