Energy Checker is committed to handling your personal data responsibly. This page explains your rights under UK data protection law and how to exercise them.

Right of access
You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you (subject access request).
Right to erasure
You can request deletion of your personal data. This is subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records.
Right to rectification
You can ask us to correct inaccurate data we hold about you.
Right to withdraw consent
Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. This does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing.
Right to object
You can object to processing of your data in certain circumstances.
Right to data portability
You can request your data in a commonly used machine-readable format where applicable.

We aim to respond to all requests within 30 days. Where a request is complex or numerous, we may extend this period by a further two months with notice.
Withdrawing consent from a partner
If you previously consented to Energy Checker sharing your details with a named trade partner and wish to withdraw that consent, contact us at privacy@energychecker.co.uk with your name, postcode and the partner name. We will forward your withdrawal to the relevant partner and update our records.
Making a complaint
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first at the address above. If you remain unsatisfied, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
