Boiler Upgrade Scheme
Government grants towards the cost of installing low-carbon heating in England and Wales. Standard grants: £7,500 for air-to-water, ground-source and water-source heat pumps; £2,500 for residential air-to-air heat pumps; £5,000 for biomass boilers where eligible. From 21 July 2026 to 31 March 2027, eligible off-gas-grid properties replacing oil or LPG can receive up to £9,000 for air-to-water or ground-source heat pumps. Not available in Scotland or Northern Ireland.
Who may qualify
Owner-occupiers and private landlords in England and Wales replacing fossil fuel or electric heating with a heat pump or biomass boiler. Valid EPC required with insulation recommendations addressed where required.
